I believe that the spirit of creation is one of those energies that people at times struggle to tap into because we have so much reverence for the ability to create and we think that only certain kind of people are creative. Most of us see God as THE Creator and so it is hard to call ourselves that. Artist that paint, draw, play music, and write poetry might be more apt to call themselves creators. People that build machines and invent innovative things in our lives may also be more apt to call themselves creators, but I offer to you that we are ALL creators endowed with the energy and power to create, by The Creator. Our ability to channel our energy into something that comes from us makes us all creators. You can tap into your creative energy in some of the simplest ways. I feel the closet to my divine self when I am in creation mode. There are activities that I do in order to increase my ability to create, that are actually creative themselves. With the year 2012 coming to a close, I am charged with the reminder to tap in my creative energies as a way to bring me inner peace, raise my vibration, and connect me to the inner light in me that brings me joy! I hope you are too!
Here are two activities that I do to invoke the creative spirit of The Most High that assist me in my work as a creator:
1) I write poems! I write all kinds of poems, most of the time not to share with others, but to process my what I am feeling in the moment. This normally helps me process those feelings and channel them into something positive. The thing about creation is the process matters just as much as the outcome. Sometimes the process is more paramount than the outcome. I have wrote many poems that I have never shared, but the process was such a shift in energy and lift in my spirit that, that was all I needed. I write poems at times to share with others, inspire, teach, or empower others as well. This form of creation, however I am led to do it, blesses my spirit and reminds me of my power. This is not about being published but about touching the energy of the way i create, which is with words!
2)Collage/VisionBoad making! Either in the form of a collage or in the form of a vision board, depending on my intention, I do these things to affirm myself, express myself, or even to give love and attention to someone else. Taking magazines and picutres and cutting out images that either speak to me, encourage me, empower me, or are in alignment with my intention, and then putting them together on a poster board or on a large piece of paper to make a card or poster board to make a free standing image is one of my favorite creative activities to tap into my creative energy. Collage making or Vision Board making-either is so beautiful and creative . Neither of them require drawing or writing, or having to feel some kind of way about having either of those abilities. Taking images that already exist and shifting them either into a message of some sort for yourself or to share with someone else, is such a simple yet fun and vibrant practice that I do!
